Location

Optimally located on Portugal’s stunning Silver Coast, the eco-camp is set in a hectare of sprawling woodland next to the beautiful Obidos lagoon. The camp offers a fun, revitalising holiday where guests enjoy a great diversity of natural beauty of wide golden stretches of unmarked sand, turquoise sea and lush pine forests. 

The eco-camp is less than 20 minutes drive to the beautiful beaches of Peniche and Baleal. Right next to the Obidos woodland and picturesque lagoon, the setting offers a variety of walking and water sports opportunities. 

Good transport links make the camp easily accessible. The camp is north of Lisbon and its International airport, meaning that you can relax in your cosy, natural dwelling in less than 1 hour drive of the bright lights of cosmopolitan Lisbon. 

Airport Transfers – we offer Lisbon airport transfers for 90 euros. Alternatively there is a bus from Lisbon airport to Peniche or Obidos. Please email for directions.   

Surrounding Area

The surrounding area is ideal for water sports in the safe, sheltered Obidos lagoon with sailing, jet skis and wind surfing available. 

Peniche – The clear coastal waters of Peniche offer exceptional surfing and kitesurfing. In addition, there is the impressive 16th century fortress and the opportunity to see the regions exquisite lace making in action. 

Baleal – is a scenic island village connected to the mainland by a causeway. The highlight of Baleal is its fantastic expansive sandy beaches and great surfing, with some of the most consistent waves in Portugal, ideal for beginners and pros alike. 

Berlenga Nature Resrve (Reserva Natural Da Berlenga) – approximately 10km offshore from Peniche, Berlenga Grande is a spectacular remote island with abundant flora and fauna. It’s the only island of the Berlenga archipelago, which consists of three small islands, that allows visitors and offers impressive snorkelling and scuba diving. The majority of inhabitants are the numerous seabirds. Day trips to the island sail from Peniche’s harbour, including those offering fishing and diving. 

Obidos – is an unspoilt Portuguese town dating back to the 12th century with a medieval feel. It’s charming labyrinth of narrow streets with whitewashed houses and blue-framed windows are a photographers dream. Obidos castle is a picturesque point of interest, overlooking the town ramparts and is now a UNESCO protected site. The Obidos lagoon offers a range of activities to keep any water sport enthusiast happy from water skiing, windsurfing, kitesurfing and kayaking. 

Lisbon – Portugal’s capital city is a vibrant cosmopolitan European city offering great restaurants and bars. An hour drive from the eco-camp, Lisbon is the perfect trip for those missing bright city lights. 

Gothic cathedrals, majestic monasteries and quaint museums are all part of the colourful cityscape, but the real delights of discovery lie in wandering the narrow lanes of Lisbon’s lovely backstreets.
